The Department of Archaeology at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Beer Sheva) is recruiting a full-time faculty position in Archaeological Science. The successful candidate will lead innovative research and teaching in the Department of Archaeology, and will be expected to collaborate with Department members and administration, developing shared research initiatives and contributing to the collective academic goals of the Department. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with the University's departments such as the Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research at Sde Boker, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the Department of Materials Engineering or the Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology. The candidate will also cooperate with Ben-Gurion University’s Goldman Sonnenfeldt School of Sustainability and Climate Change; with national organizations like the Israel Antiquities Authority and the Weizman Institute; and will develop international partnerships. Key Responsibilities: • Conducting cutting-edge archaeological research in one or more of the following fields: archaeometry, geoarchaeology, archaeozoology, archaeomaterials, microarchaeology, ancient technologies, or experimental archaeology. • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in archaeology and in one or more of the above-mentioned fields. • Securing external funding from competitive grants. • Developing collaborations with national and international research institutions. • Supervising BA/MA/PhD students and Postdocs working on interdisciplinary research related to archaeology and archaeological sciences as mentioned above. • Taking part in the department’s study excavations and operating field laboratories for on-site analytical work during archaeological excavations. • Conducting field trips with students of the department. The Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Department of Environmental, Geoinformatics and Urban Planning Sciences, seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty positions starting October 2025. We are seeking an outstanding social science researcher who specializes in urban studies (including economic, social and political aspects of planning and design in the built environment). Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in geospatial information technologies and / or urban planning. The department is part of the BGU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Its research and teaching activities are concentrated in the three main fields of Environmental Science, Geoinformatics and Urban Studies. The department also conducts a graduate program in Urban, Regional and Environmental Planning. It has a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching, both in its undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MA/PhD) degree programs. The selected candidate will play a vital role in both the undergraduate program in urban studies and the graduate program in urban and regional planning. She/he will be supported in establishing a dedicated laboratory and leading an independent research group. Candidates are required to have completed a doctoral degree in geography, urban and regional planning, or the related social sciences, as well as post-doctoral training in a relevant field of research. Priority will be given to candidates demonstrating a high potential for academic research, as reflected in a strong publication record. The position includes full-time teaching, supervision of graduate students, and the development of an independent research program based on competitive grants. The language of instruction is Hebrew.

The Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research
The Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center is currently expanding. We are seeking talented researchers to join our team as faculty members in the field of solar and renewable energy. The Faculty of Natural Sciences
As part of the national effort to enhance the development of the sea-tech sector/ecosystem in the Eilat-Eilot region, Southern Israel, Ben Gurion University of the Negev is expanding its Marine Biology and Biotechnology Program. The aim is to establish an academic community of researchers at the Eilat Campus in all sea-tech fields with an emphasis on food from the sea that will support a Bachelor’s degree curriculum and a vibrant community of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Ben-Gurion University of the Negev invites applications for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Marine Sciences beginning October 1, 2025.
