Description | The ZIWR invites applications for a tenure-track position in the realm of aquatic microbiology as well as aspects related to water quality. Specifically, eligible candidates will be environmental microbiologists or biogeochemists who studied microorganisms and/or viruses within aquatic environments as well as their impact on water chemistry. Candidates should have utilized state-of-the-art methodologies and published their findings in reputable journals. Relevant areas of expertise include experimental, modeling, and innovative sensing techniques for studying microbial systems and assessing water quality. Applicants are expected to study topics such as the presence, distribution, behavior, and impact of microorganisms in water bodies, assessing their interactions with other organisms and the surrounding environment, and their potential effects on water quality, public health, and ecosystems. | |
