Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Econometrics, Machine Learning, Data Science, or other closely related areas by the employment start date. The ideal candidate will be an innovative scholar, nearing the end of a successful postdoctoral position, advancing statistical and machine learning theory, along with its applications to real-world data. Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and to mentor senior undergraduates in their final year and graduate students of data science programs at Ben-Gurion University. These positions would be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level statistics and machine learning courses in Hebrew and English. Examples include such courses as Introduction to Probability, Introduction to Data Science, Statistical Inference, Statistical Modeling, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Successful candidates will join the academic departments most suitable for their research interests.
