Faculty of Health Sciences
The Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Community Health Sciences offers several graduate programs in the fields of public health, epidemiology, gerontology, biostatistics and nutrition (M.P.H., M.Sc., M.A. and Ph.D.). The academic activities led by the department’s faculty members encompass a broad range of epidemiological research fields, i.e., nutritional, genetic, environmental, perinatal, aging, social and pharmaceutical epidemiology. The faculty members produce impactful work that has been published in high-ranking journals. The department's research has been influential in informing health policy both on national and international levels. The department’s research activities include processing large data sets using state of the art statistical analysis methods and the development of novel tools addressing the concurrent challenging data processing needs. The successful candidate is expected to lead an independent and collaborative research program, attract and supervise master's/Ph.D. students, apply for research funding through competitive grants, publish in high ranked, international peer review journals, advise researchers and clinical staff on bio-statistical methods and teach both basic and advanced biostatistics and epidemiology courses.
