Faculty of Computer and Information Science
The Computer and Information Science Faculty (CIS@BGU) is seeking candidates for tenure-track faculty positions starting in October 2026 or possibly even earlier. The Computer and Information Science Faculty is a new faculty established by Ben-Gurion University in summer 2025. The faculty is built from two former departments: Computer Science (CS) and Software and Information Systems Engineering (SISE). The two departments merged into the new faculty to further promote the excellence of research in CIS related areas. The faculty has a unique and novel structure and is divided into two segments: research and teaching. Our research segment includes five research institutes: (1) Institute for the Theory of Computing (2) Institute for Interdisciplinary Computational Science (3) Institute for the Foundations of AI (4) Institute for Applied AI Research (5) Institute of Software, Systems and Security (S³). Each researcher chooses to be affiliated with an institute that best matches his/her scientific theme but can change that choice dynamically. In the teaching segment we offer four different degrees including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems Engineering and Data Science. See https://www.bgu.ac.il/u/faculties/computer-and-information-science/ for more information on our exciting faculty and on the different research institutes.
