Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Department of Middle East Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev invites outstanding applications for a full-time, tenure-track position to commence in the 2026-2027 academic year (pending final approval by the university authorities). Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Department of Philosophy at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev invites outstanding candidates to apply for a full-time, tenure-track position in philosophy, to commence on October 1, 2026. The position is open to candidates in all ranks. AOS/AOC is open; the department will seek excellent candidates who can expand its research and teaching coverage. Candidates will normally be expected to have earned a PhD degree in Philosophy before submission of application and should exhibit a record of excellence in research, commensurate with their level of experience. The Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research
The Ben-Gurion National Solar Energy Center is currently expanding. We are seeking talented researchers to join our team as faculty members in the field of solar and renewable energy. The Solar Energy Center at BGU is committed to addressing the challenges of solar energy in its broadest sense, including (but not limited to) harvesting solar energy in different ways, efficient storage of harvested energy, integrating solar energy technologies with other energy sources, and optimizing solar electricity production despite its intermittent nature. The Department of Nursing invites applications for a tenure-track position (Lecturer, Senior lecturer). Faculty of Computer and Information Science
The Computer and Information Science Faculty (CIS@BGU) is seeking candidates for tenure-track faculty positions starting in October 2026 or possibly even earlier. The Computer and Information Science Faculty is a new faculty established by Ben-Gurion University in summer 2025. The faculty is built from two former departments: Computer Science (CS) and Software and Information Systems Engineering (SISE). The two departments merged into the new faculty to further promote the excellence of research in CIS related areas. The faculty has a unique and novel structure and is divided into two segments: research and teaching. The Department of Psychology at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, announces an open call for tenure-track appointments (open rank; per qualifications and experience) in developmental psychology, social psychology, and cognitive psychology/cognitive neuroscience. The Interdisciplinary Unit
The School of Brain Sciences and Cognition and the Dept. of Physiology and Cell Biology at Ben Gurion have a vigorous and fast-growing program in neuroscience. The School of Brain Sciences and Cognition constitutes more than 80 researchers in all fields of brain and cognitive sciences from more than 15 academic departments and is home to both undergraduate and graduate degrees encapsulating a student body of several hundreds. The Faculty in the Dept. of Physiology and Cell Biology lead research in diverse disciplines of neuroscience including systems, stem cell metabolic, and neurodegenerative aspects of neurobiology. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, plant physiology, plant molecular and developmental biology, molecular systems biology, plant nutrition and soil fertility, and soil and rhizosphere biology and microbiology. The ZIWR invites applications for a tenure-track position in the realm of aquatic microbiology as well as aspects related to water quality. Specifically, eligible candidates will be environmental microbiologists or biogeochemists who studied microorganisms and/or viruses within aquatic environments as well as their impact on water chemistry. The Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Department of Environmental, Geoinformatics and Urban Planning Sciences, seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty positions starting October 2025. We are seeking an outstanding social science researcher who specializes in urban studies (including economic, social and political aspects of planning and design in the built environment). Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in geospatial information technologies and / or urban planning. The department is part of the BGU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Its research and teaching activities are concentrated in the three main fields of Environmental Science, Geoinformatics and Urban Studies. The department also conducts a graduate program in Urban, Regional and Environmental Planning. It has a strong commitment to excellence in research and teaching, both in its undergraduate (BA) and graduate (MA/PhD) degree programs. The selected candidate will play a vital role in both the undergraduate program in urban studies and the graduate program in urban and regional planning. She/he will be supported in establishing a dedicated laboratory and leading an independent research group. Candidates are required to have completed a doctoral degree in geography, urban and regional planning, or the related social sciences, as well as post-doctoral training in a relevant field of research. Priority will be given to candidates demonstrating a high potential for academic research, as reflected in a strong publication record. The position includes full-time teaching, supervision of graduate students, and the development of an independent research program based on competitive grants. The language of instruction is Hebrew.
Ben Gurion University of the Negev
This is an open call for established researchers from any leading research university in any academic discipline (with relevance to research and teaching at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev) who might be interested in joining our vibrant university community. The call is directed to researchers with a proven track record including: a) publications in which they are PI (along with their students where relevant) in the most highly reputed venues in their disciplines; b) grants from leading national and international funding organizations; c) have a proven track record in supervising graduate students and post-docs who have gone on to become PIs in research intensive universities; d) proven experience in teaching, both undergraduate and graduate with positive student satisfaction reports. The applicants are required to have a research agenda for the coming years which includes high risk – high gain and impactful research, which will attract graduate students, and be of interest for funding organizations, both national and international. The applicants will be expected to take an active role in the academic life of their Departments and Faculty, to sit on relevant committees and be involved in academic leadership.
